She used this skill to design a facial exercise program that is easy to learn and easy to use. She has a consult-team of two medical doctors and a professor of anatomy and physiology. Their input is invaluable, not only for the design of the CFF™ program, making it a safe and effective comprehensive user-friendly system, but for their continuing support and contributions.

Carolyn has made her website an educational tool in understanding how and why facial exercises are effective as a natural alternative to invasive surgical procedures, fillers and the like.  Articles by medical doctors, interactive muscle charts,  reviews and before and after photos abound bringing understanding and photographic proof that we can regain that youthful, dynamic look we thought we’d never see again.

She lived and traveled all over the world. She currently resides in the Pacific North West (near Seattle, Washington) with her husband, Sigi, a retired German lawyer.

Facial exercises can help you regain that younger, dynamic look you thought you’d never see again! They are a viable, natural alternative to invasive surgical procedures, fillers and the like. 15 minutes a workout, 3 times a week is all you need to do and your face will firm-up, your lines will diminish and your complexion will glow. You can turn back the hands of time 5, 10 or 15 years.   Improve the quality of your skin even further combining Carolyn’s Facial Formulas mostly organic skin care line to this regime and you’ll see your skin further radiate health and well-being.

Facial Exercises and skin care that can help you look years younger in as little as 15 minutes a workout.

    Hi Rita!
I’m so glad you enjoyed the talk. I feel privileged that I’m able to share my experiences of how I’ve been able to find a natural and viable alternative to looking fresher, younger and more dynamic. It’s a real relief for many of us to know we don’t have to resort to some drastic surgical or “other” procedure to achieving looking our best. We can now get the look we want and it’s just our fingertips away. Warmly, Carolyn

A great hour plus thank you I love the enthusiasm & positiveness that Carolyn has & the total committment. I read the reviews & it seems her customer service is something that makes a difference too.
I tried the exercises as she spoke & I do have jowls so loved that one. I have even considered having the string cosmetic surgery on the neck & jowls to lift it up as I do not want to look like my mother with the turkey goblet & jowls. So I am definately going to be doing that one.
Thank you for sharing that there is actually another way & that there is a circle of life of joy & health especially if we accept ourselves & we are the ones in charge of that!
I know I needed to be reminded of that so thank you.

    Hi Sharon!
Hanging jowls!!! That was my biggest hurdle to bring them back up after I’d gained and lost all that weight. It did take me awhile, but I did it with the facial exercises. I come from a family of “bull dogs”. Good looking bull dogs, I have to admit, but nevertheless … I thought I’d just have to live with it until I discovered facial exercises and found that I could lift them up and away. Best of all, as I get older, I find that I age so well with facial exercises. I don’t have to worry that the “work done” is going to ever make me look “alien”. I just continue to look a little bit younger and fresher as the years go buy. Oh my! I really do love my facial exercises!!! Chuckle.

The other day, I was reading about facial exercises, and wondering about how effective they were.

    Then I got the email.

    Coincidence? You decide!

Not only am I going to listen to this, I’m also going back to see if I can go through the whole set of Body Image Revolution emails from last time round and actually DO this stuff. This all comes at the time when my resistance to self-care is crumbling.

    [Reply]

    Carolyn Cleaves Reply:

    Hi Karen!
I DO know what you mean. I can start off with such enthusiasm and somewhere along the way my “remembering” that I have a choice to how I manifest starts to crumble (perfect word for this) and I find myself feeling a bit down and out. The nice thing about facial exercises is that you are rewarded with this firmer, smoother and younger-looking face as you exercise and this alone is often a great motivation for continuing. I can hide my body a bit in clothes, but my face and neck are here for the world to see. I think you’ll find that it’s easier to stay on track because the positive results are often noticed by others as well. This result of course can be “contagious” and often motivates us to bringing up other parts of our lives, as well.

    Karen Reply:

Having listened through and thought about this a LOT in the light of research on cosmetic surgery and experiencing emotion, I’ve come to the conclusion that, for me, the greatest benefits of this would be in terms of the physical health of a whole area of my body having a positive effect on me emotionally (I believe that inner and outer changes create corresponding changes), and the increased ability to more accurately process and convey authentic emotional information.

The aesthetic considerations are secondary to me. They’d be an extra perk. In the end, though, I reckon what people are really responding to is that they’re really seeing YOU more accurately – and the you they’re seeing is happier and more confident because of increased fitness and health. It’s sort of circular.

I loved the point about deepening a positive, loving relationship with yourself by paying attention to how your face works and what your attitudes to it are.

Lots of good things to consider.

Hi Karen! Your intuition is high! Yes! I often hear from my clients that they are of course happy with the firmer, smoother and younger look they achieve with the facial exercises, but they also often tell me that they feel as if some “burden” has been lifted. We do hold a lot of “stuff” in our faces and as we exercise those muscles and all that connective tissue a lot is released. A lot is relaxed. Hug

Thankyou Carolyn, for a refreshing approach to looking healthier. I want to grow old gracefully. You have invented a a natural way to keep the vitality of youth alive instead of getting it from a jar.

    [Reply]

    Carolyn Cleaves Reply:

    Hi Amanda!
Oh yes! The promise of the “jar”. So well said. I have to admit, facial exercises are not a quick fix and you do have to perform them to get these great results. So it does take some commitment. But hey! 15 minutes a workout, 3 times a week is not so much. And! The results are this natural, relaxed and healthy-looking face that looks years younger than our years. So great for our self-confidence, as well. Hugs. Carolyn

    Hi
I am a beauty and health blogger. And, I am a strong supporter of being natural. I mostly talk about the health issues and how can health improve our skin, hair and body and quality of life overall. Listening to the audio was something like that for me :) It makes me feel I am doing something worthwhile.
And, the best thing I really loved about Carolyn’s talk was the pains she takes to be so thorough. I like to be thorough for my posts so I know how important it is and how much dedication it really needs. I have seen some few people who do go to such extents and its quite refreshing to listen to them or read them.
And, again, while listening to the talk, I was looking around Carolyn’s website and found a great exercise for smoothing out the lines on the neck – the fish gulp exercise. I do that everyday. I came to know about it from Jack Lalane’s videos. I always had the idea that facial exercises cause more wrinkles and damage to the skin but hearing to your sound reasoning’s convinced me that if done in a correct way, they are quite helpful.
Thank you for such an informative talk. I have learnt a lot from it.
The only thing which I missed in the talk or site was any exercise pertaining to the fine lines under the eyes. I do have deep lines under my eyes and I wish I knew any exercise for them. I do not like to experiment as it a very sensitive area and can go worse if not taken care of properly.
    Thanks a lot again.

Hi There! I love that so many of us are able to share our experiences of looking, feeling and being the best we can in the most natural way. Bringing up the quality of life. What a perfect way to express what I feel I’m trying to do. Thank you for that!
I love the “Gulping Fish” exercise. The little trick of holding down the collarbone area as you reach up with your chin will intensify this exercise and give you terrific results in a shorter time. As for the eyes, I have 6 exercises in my foundational build program that are specific for opening up the eyes, exposing the upper eyelid and firming, filling and smoothing out the under area of the eyes. For example, there are little lymph nodes that reside under the eyes and as you exercise you activate these nodes and they flush away old debris lessening dark circles in the process. And remember, the muscles in the face are intertwined with the skin allowing us to show facial expression so as we tone and firm those muscles, the skin becomes firmer and smoother … those deep lines and sunken eye sockets become a thing of the past. It truly is the combination of exercises that gives you the look you want! Warmest regards, Carolyn

Thank you, Carolyn for sharing your natural and revolutionary program to improving your appearance as we grow wiser. I am a 44 yrs. old, black women that works hard at taking care of myself with a healthy vegan diet, daily exercise and spiritual practice. I feel so young, alive and vibrant on the inside and it shows through my personality. However, it’s not reflected on the outside.

In my culture, it’s believed that “black don’t crack” and we keep our youthful look for decades. Unfortunately, I didn’t acquire that ‘gene’. I have very deep laugh lines; especially on the right side. They look like multiple creases laying next to each other. I also have really noticeable crow’s feet. I believe it comes for 30 years of applying acne medication.

As a result, I have become very self-conscious about the wrinkles in my skin. I avoid pictures, cover my mouth with both hands when I laugh, try not to smile too broadly, and don’t wear any type of foundation (settles in the wrinkles). I didn’t believe there was any way to correct the problem without cosmetic fillers or surgery. So, I just resign to the fact that I would just have to accept my appearance as it worsens through the years. It wasn’t until today after hearing your inspiring lecture and visiting your website that I have found a little HOPE.

Thank you for giving me a reason to look in the mirror again.

    Hi There!
Your message truly touches my heart. And, I know that my facial exercise program will help give you back your youthful face and lessen your “wrinkles and lines” so that you will happily smile your broadest. And, you will be in charge of how you look! So many of my clients tell me how they’ve regained their confidence and feeling good about themselves, again. You truly can turn back the hands of time and slowly but surely regain that vibrant, smoother skin and fit look of your youth. While there is a little learning curve, once you know these exercises it’s only those 15 minutes a workout, a few times a week and you will see your whole face firming up over the next few months. So much fun!!! BIG HUG! Carolyn

    Hi Ang!
You’re intuition is certainly at work. I’ve tried to make my program a “meditative” experience. I’m told the Pacing CD which will talk you through the workout in only 15 minutes is loved by many of my clients for it is calming and “meditative” and while the exercises are certainly releasing stress in the face and neck, the workout itself is fun to listen to and use. The whole experience is akin to you own “private” facial spa and it’s certainly affordable. Remember, too, I send out a free exercise or free exercise routine every year to all my client base so you never have to buy the facial exercises again .. I keep you automatically updated. Warmly, Carolyn

Sadly, we live in a world that offers esthetic extremes when it comes to aging. I am speaking of the gobble gobble turkey neck versus plastic barbie wearing the “had work done” banner across her shocking pink mini-skirt. As we all know, where there is intension, healthy patterns and exercise follows ! Being responsible for your own progression, upkeep and maintenance is key for balanced health. Moreover, with the body having so many connectors that need to be communicated with, this program re-educates the fullfillment of feeling our beauty by taking back our inner conductor.
We are in control of our place in life, not the cosmetic companies, fashion magazines, nor plastic surgeons !!!!

Thank you so much Carolyn, I have been looking for so long for a natural approach to managing my skin and ageing/wrinkles and I was almost to the point of going back to using highly expensive and ultimately I believe toxic products on my face and body to achieve what you have now shown is possible through your wonderful program. I cant wait to try both your skincare and the exercises, I only wish I had heard about you sooner – we have family portraits happening tomorrow!!!

    [Reply]

    Carolyn Cleaves Reply:

Hi Paige! Ohhh!! I think you’ll LOVE the results from the combination of facial exercises and the skin care regime. Years ago when I started my research on the skin care line I spent one year buying and trying out everything from the $175- a jar to $5- a jar skin creams. I found I kept going back to the organic lines, but oh my! The expense. And some of these products didn’t seem to make a difference, either. That’s how my skin care line was born. I’m also so sensitive to synthetic chemicals, yet I wanted good results. This I’ve managed with this fabulous mostly organic and completely natural skin care line. Aloe vera, the main ingredient instead of water in most of our products is even desiccated by us so we know there can be no harmful chemicals in the products. And, we can keep the costs down because we don’t have to pay for advertising. We only sell to our facial exercise base. It’s so much fun to look younger as we grow older! And to age so well. YES!!! It will be fun to see these portraits and compare in a year or two?

Carolyn, thank you so much for sharing this valuable information with us.

In my mind, I still feel like I am in my 30′s, but when I look in the mirror, I get a reality check that I am in my 50′s. I have it all…crow’s feet, lines in my neck, jowls, and droopy eyelids.

I have not been happy for quite awhile with how I am starting to age. I accept that I am getting older, but, just because I am getting older doesn’t mean that I have to look old.

My skin felt more alive after doing those three exercises, then it has for a long time. I’m excited to continue doing the exercises and see myself getting younger looking every day.

    Thank you so much!

    [Reply]

    Carolyn Cleaves Reply:

Hi Lori! Yes. You look more and more as you did when you were younger with facial exercises. One of the things I love about the CFFitness program is that it enhances what you already have. You look better and fresher with facial exercises. You never look distorted or strange as you can with invasive procedures. And, one of my favorite things about my program is you not only get a very elegant and balanced build to the face and neck, you age so well. I think you’re going to love the results. But, do remember, facial exercises are not a quick fix, but you will have wonderful results over time. You will look a little bit younger every 3 or 4 months for the first few years. They’re called “youth jumps”. It continues on and on. Only the jumps get further apart. I know I look a little bit younger today than I did 4 years ago when I made the DVD (http://www.carolynsfacialfitness.com/dvd-clip) . You can see it in my Australian Today Show video clip (http://www.carolynsfacialfitness.com/today-show-clip) that was filmed very recently. Hugs…

    Carolyn,
Thank you for sharing so much about your personal journey and all the wonderful exercises. I am studying to become a Holistic Health Counselor and a big part of what I am learning is that there are so many things contribute to our health and well being. Having joy and self acceptance play a big role in our overall health.
I am in my early 50′s and while on this life path career change, I have noticed that my frown lines and droopy neck are becoming more pronounced, I am self critical and I sometimes wonder if I can ‘compete’ with the younger students who clearly have a more youthful illustration of health and beauty.
I am excited to start with the exercises, they all felt so good and relaxing. I already feel a shift in my perspective about my self-more empowered. I’m looking forward to revealing a more rested and youthful me!
I am excited to know about your program and share it with my friends and clients.

Hi Barbara! Within 4 weeks you will definitely see that “tired” look disappear. Then, over time as you see and feel your face and neck firming up and the circulation improving … your self-confidence starts to soar. Remember, as we build the muscles on our face and all that connective tissue starts to rejuvenate, we are also releasing old “habits” we may have been finished with but were still hanging around in our expressions. So many benefits besides looking “good” can come from facial exercises. Enjoy! Love.

I too, am an avid mostly ‘natural freak’.. definitely a minimalist make-up gal. I also believe the inner self-image/self-worth reflects immensely in the face… Our face is sooo important!
This info has come in perfect timing for me too.. in the wake of viewing a side-on photo of me last week with a new grand-baby… ohhh the Granny-jowls!! Where did they come from so suddenly!??
Facial fitness here I come! Watch this space…

Hi Aunty Carrot! Oh yes! I love this saying, calling those hanging “things” the “Granny-jowls” and I’m soooooooooo glad I don’t have to see them on my face any more. And yes! I had “Super Granny-jowls”. FWI, parts of the face and neck respond faster to facial exercise than other parts. For example, almost everyone sees their eyes obviously start to open, firm and lift-up within a few weeks along with that tired look – it’s just gone. The jowls and especially the double chin area take longer to address, but you will have fantastic results over time. And! I especially love the elegant cheeks you can build with CFFit. As one of my clients once said, she gets to keep the wisdom in her face while looking younger and fitter than ever. Hug. Carolyn

Hi Rebecca! The Full Kit is also on its way to you. Even though the two orders were mailed at the same time, both of them “priority mail” and even though we always ship within 48 hours of receipt of payment, sometimes the shipping service does not get the individual packages to the client at the same time. The Full Kit will probably get there tomorrow or the following day at the latest as it’s still in transit. If it’s not there tomorrow, drop me a note and I’ll check on it.
Do start with the Face Firmer exercise now (and perform it every time you work out). It will give you a little head start. You’ll find the link in your email I sent when your ordered. While it’s the combination of exercises from the foundational exercises that gives you the elegant look, the Face Firmer makes sure everything stays balanced and even. Hugs.

I work out 3 to 5 times a week at Curves, and think this facial fitness is just the addition for me. Hi Kimberly! Thank you. I love to tell anyone interested all about how well facial exercises work and what a great alternative they are to the more “permanent” and drastic medical procedures offered for helping us look our best. You are at a great age for starting facial exercises as they are preventative as well as corrective. You will NEVER have to experience the sagginess and deep lines that can develop as we age. And, at your age, you will only have to workout twice a week . And, the routine is only 15 minutes long. So much fun!!! We also offer an affiliate program, too. You can find out all about it here: http://www.carolynsfacialfitness.com/affiliate-program. Hugs. Carolyn

Hi Lila! Triceps are very hard to address. I’ve found that holding 3 pound weights and standing with knees bent and arms straight, starting with arms down at the sides of my body, I swing my straightened arms straight back with knuckles up and you can feel the muscles tighten. I do this almost every day for five rounds with ten reps each. Works well.

The CFFitness program is very good at addressing dark circles, puffy and sunken eyes to giving great looking eyes over time.
